The Outlander was first made available in 2001; for the first five years, it was known as the Airtrek. It was a crossover SUV made on the same Lancer platform before the company switched it to the Nissan Rogue chassis in 2021.
Developed by the Japanese automaker Mitsubishi Motors, the Mitsubishi Outlander is a crossover SUV.
When the Mitsubishi Outlander’s second generation (MK 2) was released in 2006, it was known as Outlander at the time. The first generation of the Mitsubishi Outlander (MK 1), also known as Airtrek, was first introduced in 2001.
The third-generation Outlander (MK 3) was introduced in 2013, making it the current model.
