Since 1998, Kia has been making the Carnival minivan. The Kia Sedona nameplate, which is no longer used in favor of Carnival, is prominently featured on its marketing materials throughout the world.
The first-generation Carnival, a single, short-wheelbase version, was released in September 1998. Short and long wheelbase versions of second-gen models were marketed. Hyundai Entourage, a rebadged version of the second generation, was made available in North America. Kia’s then-new design chief, Peter Schreyer, debuted the company’s Tiger Nose grille in 2010 as part of the second-generation model’s updated equipment. 2014 saw the launch of Kia’s third-generation long-wheelbase minivan. The fourth generation was released in 2020 when Kia started using the Carnival nameplate internationally.
